Website, quote-request intake, and operations dashboard
THE BUSINESS PROBLEMHow can a printing business collect a useful quote request and give staff a clear place to review it?
ACTUAL OUTCOME / CURRENT STAGEThe demonstration helped secure discovery meetings, as confirmed by Ariel.
I researched the business and competitor intake journeys, defined the requirements, directed AI-assisted development, and reviewed the customer and staff workflows.
I researched a two-location printing business, competitor quote and file-intake journeys, service positioning, and branch routing. I used those findings to shape a full website and an operational demonstration for a discovery conversation.
My decisions
Capture what staff need
Connect service, deadline, print specifications, a sample PDF, branch choice, fulfillment and contact details in a coherent request.
Make the handoff visible
Carry a reference number from customer intake into the dashboard, with a stage, next action and activity history.
Use discovery to test the proposal
Prepare a concept presentation and supporting discovery workbook so a stakeholder can review the proposed workflow and clarify its assumptions.
Explore the workflow
Follow one request from customer intake to staff review.
Choose a fictional branch and fulfillment preference, review the request, then see the matching staff record. This is a short example of the full website, intake and dashboard demonstration.

A connected customer and staff journey
The website explains services and locations, then leads into intake. The original seven-step sequence collects service, project/deadline, specifications, PDF, branch/fulfillment, contact and review.
Prepared request
Sample renovation plans · 6 sets · 24 × 36 · Black-and-white · No special finishing.
North branch · Pickup · client@example.test sample-renovation-plans.pdf
Requested: next business day — confirmation needed.
Matching staff record
ED-DEMO-001 retains the same project, preferences, PDF and deadline. Its initial stage is New Request.
Next action: review print specifications and confirm the requested deadline.
Marking Needs Review changes the stage once and records one history entry. It is still a quote request, not a completed order.

Research translated into a connected journey
The research/build handoff connects a two-branch business hypothesis to customer intake, routing and staff review. This paraphrased excerpt describes the proposed requirements, not a verified problem at the business today.
Website: service and location information helps a visitor begin the right request.
Intake: collect specifications and preferences before showing a final review.
Dashboard: present the matching record, stage and next action.
Source basis: Research/build handoff and original quote-request implementation, inspected September 2026.
Implemented request and dashboard relationship
The original demonstration creates a reference-numbered stored request and exposes its details to the staff dashboard. The accompanying portfolio example recreates a bounded version using fictional in-page data.
Original flow: service → project/deadline → specifications → PDF → branch/fulfillment → contact → review.
Staff views include request details, attachment metadata, stage controls and activity history.
Source basis: Original quote wizard, request endpoint and staff stage-control source.
Supporting discovery tool
The separate Discovery application turns a 43-page workbook and 30 primary questions into structured, source-linked notes. It supports local autosave and backup/export while keeping the stores distinct. It supports this full website and dashboard case.
Source basis: User-confirmed project record and Discovery release/source review.
The full demonstration made a proposed business workflow concrete enough for discovery meetings. Paid rollout, customer adoption and measured savings have not been established.
